POLICIES

The Loft School of Art and Dance – Policy Agreement

The Loft is an artistic, performance-based studio. We pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere where children and youth can thrive. We are a child-friendly studio with age-appropriate music and costumes. Our quality programs are designed to encourage confidence and joy in each dancer, while offering opportunities to shine on stage in our beautiful and professional year-end recital!

CLASS FEES + REGISTRATION (September–June)

​

  • All classes are 60 minutes

  • We have 37 classes per year

  • The cost is spread out into 10 equal payments of $75 + GST per month for each class

  • We offer discounts for multiple classes per family

  • Commitment is expected for the full season (until mid-June)

  • Payments are processed automatically on the 1st of each month in your online account

  • There is a one-time admin fee per season of $25 processed automatically upon enrolment​

RECITAL + COSTUME EXPECTATIONS

​

  • We end our season with our annual recital centred around a confidence-building theme. We strive to bring out the best of each child by giving them a professional stage experience which showcases their dancing to their family and friends.

  • Each class has their own costume at a cost of $120 + GST and will be withdrawn from your online student account on February 1st. Once the costume is purchased for your child, there are no refunds.

  • A professional venue will be chosen for the show. Tickets go on sale in May for family and friends at a cost of $25–$30, depending on the cost of the venue.

  • Optional costs include: professional photography and videography

EXPECTATION + RESPONSIBILITY + ACCOUNTABILITY

STUDENT ACCOUNT:
Students and parents are required to use their online student account for payment, registration, etc. and keep their information up to date. You can find your payment details in your Online Student Account as well as email history with important info.

​

DRESS CODE:
Dancers are expected to have their hair up, off their face, with proper dance wear and dance shoes for each dance style.

​

  • Ballet, Creative Dance, Ballet Lyrical, Contemporary Ballet, Pointe: Hair in bun, any colour body suit and dance skirt, ballet pink tights, pink ballet slippers

  • Lyrical, Contemporary Lyrical, Contemporary Modern: Suntan colour tights, any colour tank top, black shorts, beige lyrical half-sole shoes

  • Jazz, Jazz Funk, Musical Theatre: Suntan colour tights, any colour tank top, black shorts, black jazz shoes

  • Tap: Suntan colour tights, any colour tank top, black shorts, black tap shoes

  • Hip Hop: Comfortable clothes and indoor running shoes

  • Boys in all styles but hip hop: Black pants/shorts, white shirt, black ballet shoes or jazz shoes

BEHAVIOUR:
Everyone associated with and doing business with The Loft shall uphold a high degree of respect for each other. We are a positive, creative environment. Harassment and bullying will not be tolerated and, if necessary, offenders will be asked to leave The Loft.
